Open to the public, the four acre garden at Knoll is a show garden, featuring the specialist plants available in the nursery. One of the country's most extensive collections of grasses can be found within Knoll’s informal English setting, clearly demonstrating how grasses can work in the visual context of a real garden.
Knoll is at the forefront of changing gardening styles and the Show Gardens offer beautiful working examples of how to create maximum effect for minimum general maintenance as well as addressing environmental concerns: Knoll features a Mediterranean style gravel garden as well as a small scale meadow garden and most recently the Decennium border planted in Neil's version of the modern naturalistic style.
Perennials are increasingly important within the gardens. Designed to work well with both the grasses and native plants, they create stunning displays and actively encourage wildlife whilst still requiring minimum maintenance.
The garden at Knoll is never static; it constantly evolves as owner Neil Lucas introduces new plants and themes to what he lovingly describes as his 'four acre exhibit'.
