Alma Park Zoo

Established in 1969 as a native animal sanctuary, Alma Park became a registered zoo in 1973 with the arrival of exotic animals . The zoo was taken over by an animal loving family in 1981 and has since undergone extensive redevelopment to improve conditions for the animals. We depend on the support of the public to continue this work

Alma Park Zoo is an easy drive about 30 minutes (or 28KM) North of the Brisbane City Centre just off the Bruce Highway on the way to the Sunshine Coast. Alma Park Zoo is a unique tropical zoo set on 20 acres of award winning palm gardens with Australian and exotic animals nestled amongst them.

Look for the big brown zoo sign at the Boundary Road exit and follow the signs 2 Km to the Zoo.

When you arrive at the zoo you drive in to our internal car parks and have access to your vehicle during your visit. You can bring all your own food and drink to the zoo and use our many picnic tables and picnic lawns or our barbeques (we supply the wood).

We also have a café in the grounds that sells freshly made sandwiches, rolls, cakes, ice creams, tea, coffee and soft drinks. We also have postcards and souvenir squirrel monkeys, sun bears, koalas and kangaroos.
